Company Statement on Coronavirus (COVID-19) – 5 January 2021
Solon Security Ltd continues to closely follow all relevant advice and precautions related to maintaining a safe workplace for our staff and a continued service for our customers during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Our approach remains centred on taking carefully considered actions as needed whilst maintaining regular communication with customers and stakeholders.
Since the onset of the pandemic, we have been pleased to see these measures contribute to a minimal disruption in our service levels and commercial operation. We remain confident this will continue in the months to come and encourage all customers to conduct business as usual with us.

Service Levels and Staff Presence
We are maintaining a fully operational physical office and warehouse presence, utilising a skeleton staff who work to robust distancing and hygiene precautions. This is supported by a team of staff working remotely from home.
We anticipate minimal disruption to our usual service levels and goods in/out operations, but please note that response times to calls or emails may be slightly longer than usual.
The cloud-based nature of our ERP system, server and communications mean we are well placed to continue delivering our usual service. We maintain a close review of all advice and guidelines.
Impact on Supply Chain
We import approximately 50% of our stock from overseas, including the Far East.
There has long since been a stabilisation of the situation in the Far East, with all our factories and partners fully open and operational as usual. Production is therefore continuing as normal, subject to the usual Chinese New Year shutdown during February 2021.
There is however a continuing effect on shipping lead times, particularly on goods imported by sea due to vessel shortages and docking/unloading delays. This is a global issue that we are being told by our Forwarders will continue for the next few months at least.
Our policy of keeping a strong UK stockholding of key product lines means the majority of orders are unaffected, but any custom orders or new goods imported directly may be subject to longer lead times than usual.
We continue to work diligently with our professional shipping partners to maximise efficiency and delivery. All customers will be fully advised and updated on lead times for relevant orders.

We will continue our policy of closely monitoring and responding to all relevant Government advice and guidelines, in order to maintain safe working practices and high-quality service levels.
